Bead Lake — Friday, Nov. 7, 2025

Eastern Washington > Selkirk Range

We have hiked this trail numerous times.  The initial descent from the trail head is steep and coming back up is always really hard with little kids.

I brought a stroller this time, planning to park at the boat launch because it's the off season and the southern stretch is wide and stroller friendly. Unfortunately the road to the boat launch was closed. Taking the stroller down the trail head switchbacks was awful.

Hiked to the first campground/fire pit.  There was one large tree down that had brought down a little Aspen as well, easy enough to clamber over.

After the first fire pit the trail narrows and is no longer stroller friendly. It also gets steep so I don't usually go further with kids.  Would be fun to backpack.  This time of year it's completely empty and very peaceful.
