Didn't know what to expect but was blessed with election day off and the forecast looked good, so I headed for a final MLH adventure with a backpack full of winter gear including spikes and snowshoes. As it turned out, I needed neither (although some might prefer spikes for a few small slippery sections coming down).
The wooded switchbacks were snow-free, the trail then became a small stream for a bit and I'd say the last mile or so was snowy but pretty well-traveled. I did it in boots and gaiters no problems. The sun beamed down on a glorious day and all the peaks, including Glacier and Baker, showed off as well as a summit snowman someone had constructed :) I saw four other friendly folks on the trail.
Rain has returned tonight, so no idea what this trail will look like in a day or two, but it felt good to take advantage of the good weather window. FYI bathroom on Dickerman side of parking lot is closed but the one on the Perry Creek side was still open.
