When we went around the corner on Highway 2 and got the first view of Mt Index with the blue sky, sunshine, and fresh snow, we switched our plans to Heybrook Ridge. Love this little trail, and it definitely delivers on the views!
To reach the Sunset Falls viewpoint, follow the ridge east. About halfway between the first two high power electrical towers, look to the right for a large stack of logs and a follow a short trail to the viewpoint.
I appreciate the efforts of local citizens to preserve this lovely spot for public enjoyment.
