Long drive up on rocky/bumpy forest road. Drove out this morning and the road out was still very snowy as you gain elevation. A bit treacherous after passing Hart’s Pass turn off with the snow. Only saw a couple other cars.
We made it up to the parking lot and and there was 1 other SUV parked. The trail was snow covered without any recent tracks about 6 inches deep. We hiked about 1.5 miles out to see the snowy larches and then turned around. Driving out was easier after additional traffic had come up the road.
Hope to come back soon and do the whole route in better weather or with better gear.
