We stopped here for a quick hike after driving the Mountain Loop Highway from Darrington. Parking is along the highway by the brick sign. No restroom facilities here or along the trail. The trail was in really good condition all the way to the river. Footing got a little tricky farther along the river to the viewpoint. That part is along the old railroad grade whose foundation rock and timbers are the foot tread. Signs strongly advise not to go beyond the viewpoint, which made perfect sense to me. Fall colors were nice and the sound of the river was soothing.
