Tiffany Mountain via Freezeout Ridge — Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025

North Cascades > Pasayten

First of all, I was impressed with how nice the road is. The first half of the approach road is actually paved, but it is rough and broken pavement in many places. Then when the road became dirt, it was in great shape with no holes. It was just the last steep quarter mile or so before the trailhead where the road got much rougher.

Very straightforward hike. Larches start a mile up the trail. When you get to the signed junction, you can make a loop. Hang a right and hike toward Whistler Pass, where there is a nice bunch or larches at the pass. Then hike up the switchbacks up Tiffany, with views opening up toward Honeymoon Pass area on the east side of the peak, with that whole basin filled with larches. Hiked down the more direct steeper trail back to the junction to finish the little loop.
