Heather - Maple Pass Loop — Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025

Beautiful day and very busy but worth it. The parking lot and bathroom was open, cars lined the road for over half a mile. Could also have been going to cutthroat pass. We got rain at Lake Ann, and I heard that at one point it was snowing pretty hard at the pass. We enjoyed all the red and yellow foliage, golden larches, blueberries. Have hiked this trail many times over the years, in all seasons and conditions, and this might have been the most beautiful I’ve seen it! Not an easy hike, but worth every bit. With a side trip to lake ann, plus the car parked down the road, we logged about 10 miles total.
