Got to the trailhead around 12 and got back around 6. The parking lot and the restrooms were still closed. We got there late enough that we were able to park relatively close to the trailhead.
Bugs were not an issue at all but the trail was extremely hazy from wildfires. It was still pretty, but visibility was greatly limited. The temperature felt perfect. It wasn't hot and it wasn't cold, and there was a little breeze, too. Lots of fall colors to see despite the haze, and tons of ripe blueberries especially near the area where the trail diverges to the Black Peak Climbers Trail. We heard/saw tons of Pika along the trail and saw several chipmunks as well.
