Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) - Stampede Pass to Windy Pass — Saturday, Sep. 13, 2025

Today I hiked along the PCT from Stampede Pass to Mirror Lake. The road to Stampede Pass is in good condition, with small potholes and minor washboarding. Any car can make it. The trail is well-marked and in great condition. Although this section of the PCT doesn't have alpine lakes or grand vistas, the old growth forest is beautiful and there are good views from some of the old cutblocks. I saw a few dozen people at Mirror Lake and a handful of backpackers and through-hikers along the rest of the trail. Fall colours were barely starting to show.
