We recommend going counter-clockwise. After the first short stretch from the parking area, when you come to the junction, go right, up Bunker Ridge trail. It's steep; you'll get a nice workout. You can take a short rest at the first view point, where there's a bench and a high round table with stools. Continue up, past the entrance to the WWII mine, cross the road and continue up, up the Peak Spur Trail. Turn right at the first turn, and find that nice bench where you can enjoy lunch, with a nice view of Canada (unless there's cloud cover, like we had). Then continue on around, and enjoy the views south and west towards the Olympic peninsula. The trail isn't too steep as you continue to wind your way down and around, ending at the Cove trail before heading back to the parking area. It's shady most of the way, except at the top. The rain in the forecast never materialized, although mists over water prevented us from seeing much north.
