I come here once a year and the consistent themes are go slow on the road (sneaky potholes await), and get there early. Full parking lot with some overflow down the road at 10:30am. Many spots open when I left at 1:30pm. A word of caution: the big fir cones are dropping at the moment, they’re quite solid and they come down hard! Worth keeping an ear open for so no one in your party gets inadvertently whacked atop the head. Trail is in great condition, managed fine today in trail runners. Enjoy the lakes, beautiful as always!
