If you are looking for a quiet, eerily quiet hike, then this is a good one. It's not often you get to a trailhead on a Saturday morning, and you are the only car in there. And when you return, there is only one other car. Given the last trip report was in July, I figured it might not be a very busy trail, and it wasn't. I didn't see one other hiker the entire time.
I left the trailhead about 8am. The trail was dusty, and walked through a few spider webs, but not too bad. It was also a little smokey, but it started to sprinkle rain a little bit, which helped. I ended up doing the hike as a loop. I followed the path up along the creek, and got to the tower/ridge in about 1.5 hours. Hung out for about 30 minutes, and then came back down along the ridge. I saw several different animal tracks, so I was definitely on alert, but luckily didn't come across any. Coming down along the ridge was steeper so it shortened the hike a bit. I made the round trip in a little under 3 hours.
