This is steep. It's either steep in the shade of the forest, or steep in the open sun. But it's only a mile and a half to the top, and well worth it for the 360 view. Still plenty of huckleberries and blueberries as incentive to keep going. It's dry out there: Glacier Peak was a big brown rock. Very hazy, presumably from fire smoke.
Most important: The directions are incorrect. At the 5 way intersection from Beckler River Road (FR65), take the right hand fork signed 6554. Do not take FR 6550. That is an impassable road parallel to FR 65.
