Hurricane Hill — Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025

Olympic Peninsula > Northern Coast

Decided to do a short "warm up" hike before the big day on Sunday.

Arrived at the trailhead around 5:15 pm, and the upper lot was full. Was able to find a couple of spots at the first overflow lot and walked the well-defined trail between the trailheads. We passed multiple people walking on the road, and I want to stress: please use the trail. The road is very narrow and barely wide enough for two cars.

Headed up the paved trail and passed a deer, many marmots, and a lot of people. There are a couple of sections where the trail gets a little steep, but overall, it was easy going.

Hung out at the top of the hill for a few minutes before heading back down to grab dinner and catch the sunset.

Overall: 4.4 miles, 892 ft vertical, 1:35:56 rt including breaks
