Surprise! There was a marmot hanging out in the center of the road, about a 1/4 mile from the parking lot.
We've somehow missed this big gem, little hike and we've lived here for 25 years.
Starting from the main parking lot, we hiked up the hill to Myrtle Falls. Such a special spot, even with most of the mountain clouded in. The upper bridge and the lower view up at the falls were getting photographed by everyone with a phone or camera, rain be damned!
Coming back down, there were two deer busily grazing huckleberries just off the trail.
We stopped into Paradise Inn. I photographed those AMAZING hand painted shades. Wow, they are all treasures!
We got coffee and some food for the road back out at the snack shop.
A little over a mile.
