Pleasantly surprised that the lookout was open today. The volunteer, Pete, who is staying there, was very nice to talk too. The lookout will be open for another week or so.
The road to the upper trailhead is a bit rough in spots. High clearance is not needed, it is just bumpy and rocky in spots. There was some free range sheep up on the upper part of the road today, along with a couple of herders and their dogs. My daughter and I talked to one of the sheep herders today at the beginning of our short hike. What a neat job!!
