Pete Lake — Monday, Aug. 4, 2025

Trail is well maintained and a nice easy stroll with some minor ups and downs. We started Monday around 1pm and the crowds were pretty tame although most of the obvious camp sites were taken by five. Worth some looking but there are a lot of harder to find ones which are pretty great. Camp toilet halfway up the lake was clean and nice. Mosquitos were nowhere to be found but the flies were out and being mildly obnoxious. Great easy overnight that would be perfect for first timers or people with kids. Just watch for the copious amount of horse poop on the trail.
