*NOTE*
The bathrooms at the trailhead are temporarily closed. So make sure to take care of business before getting to the parking lot or be prepared to take care of things in the woods.
I showed up around 12:30p on a Saturday and the parking lot was only half full.
Thimble berries are just past their peak but I still got lots of handfuls on this hike. The toughest part is the last half mile down to Thompson Lake. Super steep and a couple of down trees that you have to climb around.
This hike is beautiful and hits all the PNW highlights: river, waterfall, alpine lakes, berries to snack on, mossy trees and fog trailing through the tall trees.
