It was a beautiful day to try an evening hike. My plan was to starts at 5 and be done by 8pm and unfortunately I stumbled on a root .5 miles before the lake. Please watch your steps. There is no service here. I was traveling solo and had no help had it been bad enough there were people at the camp sites. Im sure could of rendered aid if I was in bad enough shape but I had not informed anyone I'd be staying overnight so I was determined to get out of there. Night fell. I thankfully was prepared for such occasion and had my emergency stash of ibuprofen ktap and a bear bell that made a lot of noise. As I felt adrenaline kick in I almost didnt feel my ankle swelling but branches braking and noises I can understand made the last hour of the hike very much a face paced exit. Otherwise was beautiful. Take home. Be prepared. Even if its just a quick evening hike it can turn into much more very quickly.
