Wahkeena-Multnomah Falls Loop — Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025

This is a great way to see Multnomah Falls without having to obtain a timed entry pass. Park at Wahkeena Falls and do the counter-clockwise loop. The crowds thin out quickly and we were surprised at how quiet 4/5 of the hike was. Great views of the river from the ridge with fireweed in full bloom. Dutchman’s Falls was our favorite and relatively peaceful given how close it is to the upper viewpoint of Multnomah Falls. The paved path down from the viewpoint was crowded as expected. Overall a surprisingly lovely hike.
