Wife and I backpacked out to Toleak, spending a night at Third Beach after a late start from Seattle and the second night out at Toleak. All of the water sources were still flowing well: Newbert Creek at Third Beach, the un-named creek just south of Taylor Point, Scott Creek, and Jackson Creek out at Toleak. No problems filling filter bags during our trip. The thin wisp of water that makes up Strawberry Falls at the south end of Third Beach was even still flowing.
The overland crossings are in decent shape. The rope/timber ladders were easy to navigate up out of Third Beach. The soil cliff heading south to Scott Creek was dry and there were two ropes to help with the ascent. This would be pretty messy if the ground were wet.
We saw plenty of wildlife: lots of starfish, anemones, bald eagles, a doe and fawn, sea otters, seals off in the distance, chipmunks, and even a water spout beyond the sea stacks. It looks like a little mouse tracked around our tent at night, but didn't find anything to nibble on.
Nice trip and no smoke from the fire on the peninsula.
