Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area

My sister-in-law & I hiked with 5 kids and an infant. I ended up piggy backing my 3 year old parts of the way. We hiked up to the 3rd viewing area I believe. The less conditioned kiddos had a harder time. Bring snacks and water and some form of child carrier depending on the age of your kiddo. I had candy for motivation that kept them going. I saw one dad carrying one kid on his back and another in his arms. I saw another mom carrying her large toddler on her hip at the earlier part of the hike when we were on the way down and I felt bad for her. And a few kids melting down along the way. The 400-500 ft of elevation gain is no joke for little ones. It was still a fun hike overall. There were lots of little trails down to the creek/river at the beginning of the hike that my kids wanted to explore, but it’s actually best to opt for those at the end of the hike so that you don’t expend extra energy before you get to the top.— also so you don’t get all wet before you hike for the day. The trail itself is pretty dusty on some parts and can be slippery so it’s best to have shoes with a little more grip. There were lots of big boulders, little streams, & slugs for the kids to explore.

Little legs often have a different perspective of hiking trails than adult ones. Despite being a very short trail this one is quite steep and rugged in places. The good thing is that it's a great testing ground to see if your kids can handle it or not.
