Amazing as ever. Used the Leavenworth Taxi & Shuttle. They were 2 min late for the 5am shuttle but somehow got us there by 5:20. Wild ride but I was grateful. (The Loop Connector was there on time and arrived before us at the Stuart Lake trailhead.) Upper Snow Lake is very low; no water over the dam to cross. Mountain goats are out in force. If they approach you with a hungry look in their eye, toss a rock in their direction to dissuade them. Bugs are out, but not crazy. Do your homework and your training before you attempt this hike. Start early and bring a headlamp. Take a dip in one of the lakes to refresh your tired legs. Stay hydrated. Take every step with care. Be patient with the long exit and remember how lucky you are to be in such a beautiful place. And have fun!
