Trip Report

Sahale Peak — Wednesday, Jul. 30, 2025

North Cascades

Summited Sahale Peak via Sahale glacier solo C2C yesterday. Warning about the glacier field, even though it is kind of short (about half mile) and not super steep, there are many spots with ice so have your crampons (I know it is tempting to finish it in microspikes) because if you try to avoid the icy sections there are weak snow bridges and opening crevasses very nearby. So crampons and best to be roped with someone if you can find a partner. Water source are scare (at 3 miles and 5.7 miles from TH) unless you will melt snow, so carry at least 3-4 liters of water. Nice rappel stations at the summit.
I lost my watch I think on scree field below the summit, it is Garmin if you find it please call 206-708-3324. Thank you

Did anyone find your Garmin? If not, my friend and I are heading up there tomorrow, we’ll look for it.

Mo-hikes on Sahale Peak

No one did. I think I lost it off trail on the scree/rock field after the second rappel. Weak strap probably dislodged. Thank you.
