Mount Defiance — Saturday, Jul. 26, 2025

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass

I did Mount Defiance from the Mason Lake trailhead. There isn't a whole lot to report. The road, privy, and trail are in good condition. The wildflowers above Mason Lake on the way to Mount Defiance were absolutely incredible. There are some steep stretches that make you question continuing, but if you push through you get to the final pass below Mount Defiance where the trees open up. That's where the alpine wildflowers are in true form at the moment. At the base of the final junction leading up to Mount Defiance you once again see what a steep stretch you've got for the last few under feet, but the view at the top is worth it. a full 360° dome with clear sites across long valleys on all sides. the next peaks. Kulla Lake and Mason Lake are right below you along with their aptly named little siblings. I don't know what else to say. The trail is in great condition, it's just a long hike with some seriously Steve stretches on it.
