Arrived at trailhead about 9:30AM on a beautiful summer Saturday and only 3 other cars in the parking lot which looks like it could fit 2 dozen if folks park with courtesy - same trailhead as Iron Bear. The hike has a few sections that are slightly overgrown but nothing difficult to pass (recent rains would cause you to get pretty wet but it was try for us).
We only saw 3 other groups of hikers all day, and although it's a shared trail we only encountered two pairs of dirt-bike riders who were reasonably courteous.
It's a long slog all the way to the top and as the views increase, so does the exposure and heat if it's a sunny day - take lots of water! My dog and I went through a full 3 liters even though he was able to take advantage of several shallow streams down lower on the trail. Amazing views all along the summit with plenty of room to spread out and enjoy lunch.
