Perfect weather day for this "kind of" steep trail, not too hot, not too cold. Goldilocks weather! Had the trail to ourselves the entire time, except for one biker who passed us early on, never to be seen again. And speaking of bikers...the trail becomes a pretty deep V rut at approx 3ish miles up and it gets worse as you get closer to the ridge. Once on the ridge, the trail is pretty nice. Wildflowers were blooming, I haven't been on this trail during wildflower season and I was quite surprised how gorgeous it was during the season! And we saw goats for the first time on this trail, off in the distance on the jagged cliffs that come into view a couple miles up.
