If you want peace and quiet while hiking, this might be your place to go. We got a late start today and wanted to check out some place new. We settled on Pine and Cedar Lakes and we found a very quiet trail. Trailhead had 5 cars at 11 am. We saw 10 hikers and 1 bicyclists. You can hear the freeway for the first mile and half and then it’s quiet. We had Cedar Lake to ourselves where we had lunch with the dragonflies. So many dragonflies around the lake. It was serene and lovely and just the right place for us today. Twinflower and spring everlasting in bloom, with a few little yellow flowers like buttercups around. Red huckleberries ripe and lots to enjoy. The trail is a bit of slog for the first mile with lots of ups but it does even out eventually and was pleasant with all the shade. Brand new picnic table at one of the campsites at Cedar Lake.
