Trailhead report for Sunday, 7/20:
Arrived at lot at 8:00 and still plenty of parking spots, though they were filling up quickly.
The pit toilets were some of the worst I have seen. And I have been to many trailheads. Full and needing to be pumped, no toilet paper, flies, and most likely urine on the ground. Many people were so grossed out they chose to find a spot in the woods as evidenced by toilet paper litter spotted throughout the trail.
The Trail: Trail was in good shape. We marveled at all the engineering and manpower it took to build all the stairs. The lake was beautiful. Many people at the lake and all were respectful. We took a detour to Bridal Veil Falls on the return. Definitely worth going the extra mile. Bridal Veil was very busy!
