Heather - Maple Pass Loop — Friday, Jul. 11, 2025

We arrived at the trailhead around 8:30 am and were able to grab one of the last parking spots - several hours later there were long lines of cars on Highway 20 as usual.  For all the crowds that love this hike, we only occasionally encountered other hikers, in part because most of us do this hike in a counter-clockwise direction that spreads the crowds out.  The trial is in excellent shape throughout, and the great repair work of the Methow Trails Collaborative and others is evident - thanks!  This is a great time to enjoy this gem, as the entire trail is now show-free and the waterfalls flowing into Rainy Lake are on full display!
