Snow Lake — Thursday, Jul. 10, 2025

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass
Low clouds over the lake

7 Breakfasteers began hiking the gently rising slope to Snow Lake at 8:00 AM. There were a few cars in the lot, but no bugs! The weather was cool, dry and pleasant, and the bugs only bugged us once we reached the lake. Even there, they were a bit annoying but not enough to drive you away. The trail was dry and clear with a few wet spots on the descent to the lake. We had a cloud layer today, but it came and went providing some mystery as the surrounding peaks would appear and disappear.

We saw only a few people on our way up, but plenty of folks by the time we were returning to the parking lot. Lots of hiking pups as well. Over breakfast we noted how pleasant, polite and friendly everyone was. Hiking brings out the best in people.

Total hiking time for our group of seniors - 3 hours 40 minutes car-to-car.

One small note: the westbound ramp to I-90 was closed, so you had to drive east a bit to get on at Exit 53 heading back toward Seattle.

Great views of the mountains on the way up and down
