Lake Valhalla — Wednesday, Jul. 2, 2025

Road is in great shape, my wrx had fun on the road, just have to watch for some larger rocks if you’re not on 10ply truck tires.

Skeeters were present from the car to the lake, not sure annoying, but if you stopped moving for too long they definitely found you. Luckily at the lake there was a nice breeze that kept them off of us most of the time we were there. Once you’re getting closer to the lake on the pct portion of the trail there are intermittent snow fields, definitely slippery as it’s melting fast, but nothing that needs special devices or route finding. Along with that melting snow comes the fact that quite a bit of the trail is muddy. Great conditions for that elevation and this time of year, and the lake was in excellent swimming conditions.
