Hikes with two families, young kids and my dog! Such a great trail for first time backpackers. All the wonder of the woods without the massive elevation so common in the North Cascades.
kids loved the river, waterfalls, and berries. So many salmon and huckleberries!!!
Warning! Bees nest on the trail, right after the marker pictured below. They’re basically around the next corner. Think their ground nest opening is right on the edge of the trail. They swarmed and stung both times we passed by.
The trailside greenery is also in full swing especially near the end of the trail. Aka, felt like we were bushwhacking a little. But not hard to stay on the trail, and no issues getting through.
Such a great time in a really cool wilderness. Thank you WTA for trail maintenance! It’s fun to see the crews out there and thank them in person!
