Lady and me at 5200-foot level on Rattlesnake Trail

I hiked with my dog about 2200 fee up the Rattlesnake trail starting at Panjab Campground. Weather and the views were very nice. The beginning of the trail is annoyingly hard to find. The existing sign to the trailhead is put in the wrong place and seems to indicate a fording of the Tucannon River (which I did) putting me far from the trailhead, which wasted about an hour of bushwacking and backtracking. The actual trailhead is directly across the Panjab River at Panjab Campground. You can either cross over on a large barkless log or ford the stream. The trail starts a few feet to the right of the big log. The trail is hard to find in many places, overgrown with bushes or bare rocky places. I know from earlier hikes that the Rattlesnake Trail has some beautiful, level open ridge hiking a few hundred feet higher than where I turned around. 14 photos from the hike are in the link below.
