Road
Great condition - No potholes, and the portion from the junction to the boat launch is paved. Was able to do 35 mph on the gravel road with no problem in my Toyota sedan.
Parking
Arrived about 11AM on Friday and we were the only car there. Doubt this trailhead gets too busy anyways. We went too far at first and ended up at the boat launch, but after checking the WTA directions again we went back to the first side road/pullout we saw.
Trail
Trail was in good shape. I was glad for a less hot day today since there is no shade. We enjoyed walking along the bluffs and looking down at the Columbia river and across to the Hanford complex. We climbed the first dune and then continued on to the larger second dune. Be prepared for strong winds; it was blowing something fierce up on the dunes! I was glad to have my sunglasses just to protect my eyes. We had a great time hanging out on top of the dune regardless and rolling down the steep backside of the dune. This was a unique hike that I really enjoyed, with the added bonus of only briefly seeing two other people the entire time.
