Followed the trail to Boardman Lake. Tried going around the lake counterclockwise first and the clockwise, but quickly ended up in terrain that was a bit too steep and bushwhacky.
Trail Conditions. No obstacles, but plenty of roots and rocks.
Road Conditions. The last 2 miles past the junction with Pinnacle Lake had some rough spots, high-clearance and AWD seemed like a good idea. Narrow in places, but plenty of spots to pass. No trailhead facilities.
Highlights. Nice old-growth forest, wildflowers (lots of bunchberry, western lily-of-the-valley, coralroot orchids), and some birds (several red-breasted sapsuckers).
Bug Status. No biting bugs, but lots of tiny flies swarming on the east side of Boardman Lake (where the established campsites are).
Crowds. Encountered two parties on the trail. Plenty of parking.
