The majority of wildflowers are still about 2-3 weeks away, berries a bit longer. There were a lot of phlox, glacier lilies, small flower penstemon, Davidson's penstemon, western spring beauties in bloom, and a few paintbrush just starting to bloom. Still way more to come. Trail is in great condition, just a few minor logs to hop over. One very small section of snow to cross, maybe 6 ft in all. Great views of Ranier. A bit cloudy but could see Adams and could just make out Hood. The golden mantled ground squirrels were all about posing for pics too! I also saw the hind end of a snowshoe hare bounce across the trail and into the bushes. I wanted to head to the lakes too, but it was my first hike at 3k ft and my knees had a different opinion. Next time...
