Perfect overnight at Maple Grove!
Road is fine - may have to take a few sections a little snow with low-clearance vehicles, but very much passable.
Trail is in great shape. Walked across the log at Anderson Creek on the way out - with confident balance, it is not a problem (or you could scooch across on your butt, though it's a little tricky with some other logs in the way). Forded on the way back as the log looked harder to confidently walk on going downhill. Water came up just above my knees (I am 5'5.5"). Poles were helpful for the ford.
Salmonberries are happening, a few tiny strawberries, and even a couple blueberry bushes! In JUNE!
Maple Grove had tent spots left on a Friday night (maybe three groups were there total). Campsite had multiple picnic tables, bear lockers, a standard forest pit toilet, and a Very Cool Train-Track-Foot-Pump-Your-Poop-Away urine diverting toilet!
Not much wildlife except birds, but after bedtime we heard a quite close and fun animal call - our best guess is a bobcat!
