Pinnacle Lake has a challenging road. My RAM 1500 bottomed runningboards a few times due to giant potholes and rocks sticking up from the roadbed. We also had branches rubbing on both sides and the top with no place to turn around for a couple of miles. Slow going. Having said that there was a 2 wd BMW parked at the trailhead. We were amazed. It looks like quite a few parked beside the road and walked in. There were small patches of snow once we got up high but none on the trail. The trail was rooty, muddy, and a bit brushy. The weather was cool and misty. It looked beautiful in the fog, but no views today. We did stop by Bear Lake on the way out and there is a back country toilet there. It is a nice little lake.
Naturally the sky began to clear by the time we finished.
