I went up the Goat Creek trail to the intersection four way intersection, then took the loop that goes by the lake trail and up to the peak. I think that adds up to around 14 miles. Nice steady elevation gains.
The trail is in great shape. There are some blow downs to be climbed over but nothing too tough. A few small snow patches which will be gone soon.

Barbara, thanks for the trail report! Which way did you get to the trailhead? I can't get a clear answer from the FS on what is passable and what is on private land.

You drive past Taidnapam campground, come to a T in the road and turn right. That gravel road goes through land owned by Port Blakely(?) but it's open to the public.
I hope you get up there, it's a beautiful area!
