We arrived at the Alpental parking lot around 5pm. There were a handful of cars in the parking lot and we only encountered a few hikers on the trail, most of them coming down from Snow Lake.
The trail going up to where Source Lake splits off from Snow Lake trail was in good shape. A few water crossings, but all easy.
We went up to the source lake overlook. Further on, there were several small waterfalls that we crossed - all flowing with a lot of water, but not hard to cross. We continued on through the scree field until we encountered a small snow field.
Lots of wildflowers in bloom, but no berries yet.
