The parking lot was mostly full at 5:00 PM on Saturday when we arrived (don’t forget your Makah Recreation Pass - there is a check point on the road before the trailhead). It looks like they are expanding the parking lot down the road in a few areas to accommodate more cars.
The first section of the trail is very wide and has benches along the way before hitting the boardwalks. The boardwalks are in decent shape, but be careful. There are some loose pieces every once in a while and a few of the hand rails have broken off. The trail was pretty busy and it was a little tricky letting people pass on the narrow boardwalks but everyone was respectful. The view points are so incredible! This is the perfect hike for any age. My two-year old hiked almost the entire trail and loved navigating the boardwalks.
From start to finish, it took us 1 hour & 11 minutes, including a snack break and stopping at every view point.
