Beautiful, sunny day for a quick hike! We stopped at the Makah Cultural & Research Center in Neah Bay to get our recreation permit and visit the museum (wonderful, well worth an hour or two), and with the permit hanging from the rearview mirror were waved right through the checkpoint entering the reservation. There were maybe a dozen cars parked when we arrived around 1:30pm, with plenty of space for at least that many more. The parking lot was in direct sun but 90% of the trail was shaded, the boardwalks and viewpoint structures were in good shape, and the trail was dry. I wasn’t expecting it to be downhill on the way in and uphill on the way out - not super steep but enough to get your heart rate up a little. All in all a lovely walk through the woods with absolutely beautiful views.
