Talapus and Olallie Lakes, Pratt Mountain — Saturday, Apr. 26, 2025

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass
Summit

From the Talapus lake trailhead I hiked up to the peak of Pratt mountain. The trail was almost clear up to Talapus lake and then intermittently snow covered up to Olallie. From there I traversed the west side of the lake and gained the ridge on the north side. Following the trail west (I think this is the Pratt Lake Trail #1007), I continue on the Mt Defiance trail (#1009), which was mostly snow covered, until the SE ridge of Pratt Mountain. I followed the ridge all the way to the summit. Keep right when the ridge gets a bit rocky. Microspikes or some traction is highly recommended. The snow was hard enough that I didn't regret leaving my snowshoes in the car. An ice axe was nice to have but not necessary, I didn't feel there was any dangerous exposure.
