A write-up to show the rutted portion of the road, 2.7 miles from the Bare Mountain Trailhead.
ROAD 5700 (North Fork Road)
- Overall, still bumpy with potholes to last several lifetimes.
- Without photos from others to compare, not sure if the roadway has worsened since last year's reports or the most recent outing in January.
- It looked doable in a Subaru Outback with decent clearance. However, it would take strategic maneuvering and careful positioning of the vehicle to get through without damage. Having a second pair of eyes to help inspect could speed up the process.
- Conditions beyond that point are unknown. So it's a perfect spot to turn around if not wanting to walk the nearly 3-mile stretch. Also, it's different going back through the ruts on a dipped surface.
- Since it's 17.8 miles out from the Nork Fork Road turn-off, having a backup plan wouldn't be a bad idea if wishing to stick around the area. Knowing road conditions weren't as good as they once were, I knew better than not having something else lined up.
- NOTE: The entire span of land before Lennox Creek crossing sits inside logging territory, managed by Campbell Global and open to the public. If paying for a permit is feasible, there are other options. With more daylight, it's possible to combine several small hills in one trip (with or without a bike) to get the money's worth.

- Recommended for valley views: Fuller Mountain, Devil's Slide 6, Deep Devil, Hancock's Comb.
- Recommended for water views: Lake Hancock, Calligan Lake, and Black Lake below Devil's Slide 6.
BRIDGES
- No issues through all crossings, a slight dent before the bridge over Lennox Creek

My son and I were up there Sunday in a 2017 Outback. Scraped the hitch once, but otherwise no issues. The road the rest of the way to the Bare Mountain trailhead is fine.
