Definitely pack your snowshoes for this one. We approached via the Excelsior Pass trail. Donned snowshoes around 3000'. Around 4500' just picked a line and headed uphill towards the peak. No views until you break out of the trees around 5400'. Used ice axe for the short peak approach. 360 degree views from the top.
A few determined hikers postholed (6-18" deep at times) through miles of packed down snowshoe trail which made for hazardous and annoying walking at times.
