Crystal Mountain Resort Snowshoe Trails — Monday, Mar. 3, 2025

Mount Rainier Area > Chinook Pass - Hwy 410
Easy section of the Blue Bell Loop

Snowshoed with two friends on the Bullion Basin snowshoe trails.  Conditions change quickly this season, so we went to the base of Crystal Mountain for a high elevation that guaranteed snow.  We hiked counter clockwise on the trails, to try to avoid the reported challenging center trails.  We experienced all kinds of terrain and snow conditions.  There are some easy, mellow sections, and some very steep, difficult sections.  One of the attached photos shows our route.  The weather provided clouds, sun, drizzle, snow, and fog.  The resort has helpful signs posted at every trail intersection.  It cost nothing to park on a weekday and they also provide trail maps.  Easy drive to the C parking lot because Crystal maintains the road.
