Coal Creek Falls, Red Town Meadow & Trails & Red Town Creek — Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025

I intended to follow the Cave Hole trail to Coal Creek Falls trail, however when I got to the trailhead there was a hoard of small children headed that direction that I didn't want to be near (nothing against them, I just wanted a quieter experience). I quickly detoured down the Bagley Seam trail that connects with Red Town Trail. I followed Red Town until it intersected with the Indian Trail before off shooting to the Quarry trail.

Once I had made it to the Quarry trail, my intent was to meet up with the other side of Coal Creek falls trail to view the falls, however I had to turn around when my body said enough. I am just recently restarting to hike consistently after a lapse during COVID and a lot of weight gain from unhealthy habits. I'm attaching a picture of my route.

Overall, trail conditions were fair. Most of the trails were snow covered but packed down from previous hikers so it didn't feel difficult hiking. Where the snow had melted, there was wet/muddy trails exposed but not too bad to walk right though. The snow was melting off the trees in very large drops of water so prepare for that feeling.
