This was probably the most... odoriferous hike I've ever done. The photos should explain why.
Smell aside, it was fascinating to witness this iconic aspect of PNW ecology up close. Several live salmon were still battling their way upstream and digging nests. There were a ton of eggs visible.
There was definitely evidence of the bomb cyclone around the park, but nothing blocking roads or the trails were were on.
It was a short day for us, walking about 2 miles on various paths. There isn't a way to cross the Green River except by the parking area at the west end of the park, so we had to backtrack a long way to see the other half of the park. The two "geysers" are pretty skippable, so don't feel bad if you don't make it over to them.
There was plenty of parking at 11am, fully stocked bathrooms, and several nice picnic shelters to eat lunch on a rainy day.

Ugh thanks for the reminder! My dog got up close and personal last year about this time with the fish. The ride home was truly awful 😅. Otherwise we love this park. It’s usually empty and lots places to roam.
