Road conditions: First, get through the pot holes, then be prepared for the washboards, and 1 last signifiant washout, before the sharp rock section right before the lot. Not recommended for road tired (1 vehicle at TH today had a tire that was slowly going flat). The potholes are many and deep in several sections - not recommended for low clearance vehicles. It took about 30 minutes to get up the road to the TH in a lifted 4WD truck with all terrain tires.
Privy: Not maintained. No TP. (I brought a new roll and left it in there. hopefully it helped a few ppl out)
Trail: Do NOT cut the switchbacks. This is my 3rd time on this trail in 4 years. It's sad to see the erosion and that the areas where people cut the switchbacks has continued to get wider. Otherwise, trail is in good condition (narrow, be prepared for exposure). Where the trail splits to go down to the lake, be on the lookout for marmots if you're there early in the day. The first part of this descent is very steep and it's loose rock. Watch your footing. It's 1000ft in 1.4mi. Currently, lots of blueberries along the way, but most are getting soft / it's a bit late in the season. Trail is overgrown as you get closer to the lake. View from the lake is lovely. Enjoy!
